On this day in 2011, cable's VH1 introduced its first hour-long scripted series,
Single Ladies, in the form of a two-hour telefilm.
The series, executive produced by Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Entertainment, starred Stacey Dash, LisaRae McCoy and Charity Shea as three friends with different opinions on relationships.
Set and produced in Atlanta, the series featured several noteworthy guest stars during its freshman outing, including Terrell Owens, Isaiah Washington, Common, Kelly Rowland, Wilson Cruz, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, Rick Fox, Michael Warren, and, of course, Queen Latifah.
The currently-running show began its second season Monday, albeit without star Stacey Dash, who unexpectedly quit the show after the first season. She has been replaced by Denise Vasi of
All My Children.
