Ellen Goes Gangnam with Britney Spears
October 23, 2012  | By Christy Slewinski

HONORING ELLEN
 — On Monday in Washington, DC, comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, which recognizes humorists who have made a significant impact on American society. In honor of DeGeneres' win, here's a recent clip from Ellen that perfectly illustrates DeGeneres' style of humor. Having noted a Tweet in which The X Factor judge Britney Spears expressed a desire to learn "Gangnam Style" dance moves, DeGeneres brings in Korean rapper PSY, the dance's creator, for an in-person lesson. A pop-culture icon learning the latest zeitgeist dance from an internet phenomenon? Just one reason Ellen — and its namesake — is worth watching. -CS
