Some new shows, of course, were rolled out by NBC during the Olympics. A couple others popped up earlier this week, and next Monday brings another pair before the new season begins in earnest a week later, on Monday, Sept. 24.
But on my Fresh Air report — my first of the fall — I’ll offer an assessment of the overall season, pinpoint the one new show I think stands slightly above the rest, list the new shows with the most promise, and play clips from a few new series, including ABC’s Last Resort (above), which I suggest are worth at least a sample.
One of them, at least, should surprise you.
