This high-energy 2001 movie, directed and co-written by Alfonso Cuaron, is a coming-of-age story that’s more mature than most – in fact, this is the unrated version, so be forewarned. Two boisterous teen boys invite a woman on a road trip to a destination that may or may not exist – and for reasons soon made clear, she accepts, and teaches them a lot along the way. Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal star as the lucky youths, and Maribel Verdu enchants and confounds them as the lovely Luisa.
