SERIES RETURN: Netflix has gone the TV series revival route before – quite gloriously with new episodes of Arrested Development, and quite horribly with its sequel sitcom series, Fuller House. But now, today, comes four new 90-minute installments of Gilmore Girls, generated by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, returning to her TV baby to craft four new reunion episodes tied to the seasons: “Winter,” “Spring,” “Summer” and “Fall.” (In a different order, that was the name of the Indian princess on Howdy Doody.) Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are back as the fast-talking mother-daughter besties Lorelai and Rory, and most everyone else, save for the late Edward Herrmann as the family patriarch, are back too, including the now-a-big-star supporting player Melissa McCarthy as Sookie. Rory’s various exes, also more famous since the original days of Gilmore Girls on WB and the CW (from 2000 to 2007), make appearances as well: Jared Padalecki (Supernatural), Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us), and Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife).
