Tonight is the night of the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., which carries with it a lot of history. It was at that event, in 2011, that then-President Barack Obama skewered Donald Trump, who was in attendance that year. Trump also was ridiculed by that year’s host, Seth Meyers, and the one-two punch of humiliation that night reportedly stung so much that it was on that fateful night that Trump decided to get revenge and run for President himself. Now, six years later, President Trump indeed is in the White House, 100 days into his presidency. And rather than stand triumphantly at this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, President Trump is skipping that event – and, instead, holding a rally of his own, celebrating the completion of his administration’s first 100 days, in Harrisburg, PA. C-SPAN covers it live – as, later tonight, it also covers the black-tie correspondents’ dinner.
