THE HANDMAID'S TALE
May 17, 2017  | By David Bianculli

Hulu, 3:00 a.m. ET

This week’s newly streamed episode of The Handmaid’s Tale involves a political visit by the Mexican delegation – one that provides Serena Joy, played by Yvonne Strahovski, with the chance to display her importance, including her control over her handmaids. But she, too, is a woman, which makes her power play somewhat tenuous in this future society, where most women have been stripped of position, power, and many other freedoms. Elisabeth Moss stars as Offred, one of the handmaids in Serena Joy’s oppressive “care.”
