Harry Treadaway and (pictured) Brendan Gleeson, as the killer and retired detective squaring off in this tense new Stephen King thriller, have been riveting. The supporting players, across the board, have added key levels of support, surprise, and creepiness – and Mr. Mercedes, quite quietly, is turning out to be one of the biggest and best dramatic surprises of the summer.
