BETTER THINGS

SEASON PREMIERE: Pamela Adlon not only is starring in all 10 of this season’s new episodes, in which she plays a harried single mother of three girls, but also directing them. And she and her producing and writing partner, Louis C.K., are toiling there as well, making this another modern example of auteur TV. And a good one. As with a lot of Louis C.K.’s comedy, many scenes and ideas hit a nerve – and that’s no accident, because that’s where the really uncomfortable, unusual, and memorable comedy begins. For a full review, see Roger Catlin's TV Eye.
