Last week’s Season 2 premiere told two stories, by two different writer-directors, and they began with discernibly different tones. Lodge Kerrigan’s “Erica & Anna” began with an aggressively misogynistic set of sexual encounters between a wealthy chauvinist and his hired escorts, and Amy Seimetz’s “Bria” took a more subdued route, showing a pampered woman, restlessly confined in a witness protection program, seeking secret thrills by photographing herself and posting her profile on a “Sugar Daddy” escort-for-hire website (pictured). Both narratives are only beginning, but a few more episodes should reveal whether they’re worth attention. And, if so, how much.
