MR. ROBOT
November 15, 2017  | By David Bianculli

Last week’s special episode of Mr. Robot got a lot of attention because it was filmed to give the illusion that the entire episode was one unbroken take, filmed by a single camera. It wasn’t, but the trick was a good one, and a nice nod to Birdman. But for me, the biggest surprise with last week’s show was the music that opened it, in the elevator scene. It was a haunting, truly strange track from Philip Glass’ Einstein on the Beach opera – and a piece of music I never expected to hear on a TV soundtrack, ever.
