There’s a new premiere today – not of a program, but of a newly rechristened network. As of today, the cable network formerly known as Spike TV will be known as Paramount – and marks the occasion with a special live edition of its Lip Sync Battle series, with celebrity contestants offering their interpretations of various hits by Michael Jackson. LL Cool J hosts. And for the record: Paramount now replaces Spike TV, which was launched in 2003, replacing The National Network, which was launched in 2000, replacing The Nashville Network, which was launched in 1983.
