SEASON PREMIERE: The last two seasons of Homeland have been tough. They’ve been set in interesting cities, and had interesting antagonists, but the focus has been less on Claire Danes as bipolar world-saver Carrie than on her even more unstable counterpart, Quinn – whose fate, last season, wasn’t worse than death. It was death. But before that, the two of them managed to work together to save a presidential candidate – incoming President Elizabeth Keane (played by Elizabeth Marvel), who instantly betrayed Carrie by ordering the arrests of several people, including this show’s most reliable and stable hero, Saul (Mandy Patinkin). So now, Carrie has a friend to save and a president to oppose – and, as this season quickly unfurls, some even bigger fish to fry and mysteries to unravel.
