Last week, in its second episode, Barry managed to stage a credibly dramatic scene as well as several funny ones, during a torture scene that was almost as uncomfortable as Dustin Hoffman’s dental discomfort in Marathon Man. And yet the comedic scenes land squarely, too, a testament to Bill Hader’s direction as well as his acting. And tonight, the juggling act continues, as Hader’s Barry, a recently retired hit man, is forced to carry out one more murder.
