KILLING EVE
April 8, 2018  | By David Bianculli

BBC America, 8:00 p.m. ET

SERIES PREMIERE: This one’s a blast. Based on the novels by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve is a tale of mutual obsession – two characters singularly fascinated by murder, and, eventually, by one another. Jodie Comer plays Villanelle, an assassin who’s a sociopath, traveling across Europe to kill for money, and for the thrill of it. And Sandra Oh, from Grey’s Anatomy and Sideways, plays Eve, a deskbound British agent whose insights into this elusive killer land her a promotion, an entry into the field, and an assignment to find and stop her. The real fun begins when the assassin learns she’s being hunted – and decides to hunt Eve instead. It’s part The Fugitive, part Homeland, and part Dexter, and completely enjoyable.
