LEGION
April 17, 2018  | By David Bianculli  | 3 comments

FX, 10:00 p.m. ET

I don’t want to oversell tonight’s new episode of Season 2 of Legion, but I don’t know how not to. When I was finished watching the preview DVD of tonight’s episode, I was nothing short of stunned – and ran to Fresh Air do a special, midseason rave review of what I’d just seen, something I hadn’t done since the third episode of the original Twin Peaks 28 years earlier. To read and hear my full review of tonight’s Legion on NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross, visit the Fresh Air website.

David! When David Bianculli says this is one of the most amazing moments in TV history, that is saying something. I trust your reviews so much that I binge watched Season 1 so that I could really enjoy this "stunning" episode. And....

... how was that different than the rest of Legion? Seriously, did I miss something? If there is a subtext that you perceived that was profoundly different than the other episodes would you please share?

The Fresh Air segment made me finally pick up this show. I don't regret that; it's as good as everyone says it is. Nevertheless, you *did* way oversell it. What exactly made this episode stand out over the equal weirdness of the preceding ten? I kept waiting for something transcendent to happen, and it never did.

I don’t disagree with you, but I gave up on Legion during this “great” episode. I have no idea what is happening, which became wearing. This season is more incomprehensible than the last.
