One of the very best movie sequels ever made. This 1974 Francis Ford Coppola follow-up to his 1972 classic The Godfather (which immediately precedes this film today on AMC, by the way) is presented in prime time. Like Better Call Saul, it serves as both prequel (in this case, telling the story of young Vito Corleone, played by Robert De Niro) and sequel (continuing the story of the Don’s youngest son, Al Pacino’s Michael. Watch for great performances not only from those two, but from Robert Duvall as consigliere Tom Hagen, Diane Keaton as Michael’s wife, and John Cazale as Fredo Corleone.
