SCORSESE IN THE 70S
September 17, 2018  | By David Bianculli

TCM, 8:00 p.m. ET

When he talks about the history and content and artistry of film, Martin Scorsese is about as knowledgeable and enthusiastic as they come. And when he makes film, he’s almost as peerless. Tonight, TCM presents a triple feature of Scorsese’s films from one decade alone, the 1970s. And come on – look at this troika!  At 8 p.m. ET, it’s 1974’s Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. At 10 p.m. ET, it’s the film that put Scorsese on the cinematic map, 1973’s Mean Streets.  And at 12:15 a.m. ET, it’s one of his crown jewels: 1976’s Taxi Driver (pictured).
