SCORSESE IN THE 70S
September 24, 2018  | By David Bianculli

TCM, 8:00 p.m. ET

This week’s installment of this salute to Martin Scorsese in the 1970s presents three please-record-and-watch elements. The evening starts at 8 p.m. ET with Italianamerican, his 1974 salute to his mother. Then comes 1978’s The Last Waltz (pictured) at 9 p.m. ET, the farewell concert by The Band – and, with guest appearances by Bob Dylan and many, many others, one of the best concert films ever made. Then, at 11:15 p.m. ET, his early, 1972 drama, Boxcar Bertha, starring Barbara Hershey, Bernie Casey, and both John and David Carradine.
