This live music show is packed with performances – and while it’s neither produced as snazzily as the Grammys nor designed with an eye to pair different artists in one-of-a-kind duos, the AMAs have a lot of firepower, and youth appeal. My daughter will be glad to learn, I presume, that Cardi B is on the bill, poised to sing “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin. And while Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez all have solo spots scheduled, the act on the bill that intrigues me the most this year may well be Panic! At the Disco, which is planning to join the festivities via satellite live from Australia, where the group will perform – ready? – Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” (pictured).
