MINISERIES PREMIERE: This new Netflix series, co-produced with the BBC, starts with one of the most gripping openings for a dramatic series since Breaking Bad or Lost. And once that’s over, you’re not likely to go anywhere. Richard Madden, who played Robb Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones, stars as David Budd, a veteran of the Afghanistan war who ends up serving as a personal bodyguard to controversial, power-seeking Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes). Bodyguard has more than a whiff of Homeland, and also has one set piece, in each of its two opening episodes, that are about as tense as TV gets. There are six episodes in all, and when they televised in the U.K., they shattered modern viewing records. For a full review, see David Hinckley’s All Along the Watchtower.
