DOCUMENTARY MINISERIES PREMIERE: The 1999 disappearance and murder of 18-year-old high school student Hae Min Yee, and the subsequent murder conviction of her former boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was a cold case made red hot by the nonfiction Serial podcast. Starting tonight, HBO takes an even newer look at the case, including what has happened since it was overturned in the wake of the Serial revelations. The Case Against Adnan Syed is directed by Amy Berg, who also directed the 2016 PBS American Masters biography of Janis Joplin, Janis: Little Girl Blue.
