David Sutherland, the filmmaker behind PBS’s The Farmer’s Wife, is behind this similarly small-scale look at a national problem, showing how sweeping policies strongly impact individual people. It’s a co-production with Frontline and Voces, and follows Elisabeth Perez, a decorated U.S. Marine veteran living in Cleveland, struggling to reunite her family after her undocumented husband, Marcos, gets deported, and lives in Mexico, apart from the rest of his family.
