SERIES PREMIERE: Carla Gugino already made her mark on TV in one attention-getting series, the outstanding Elmore Leonard Out of Sight spinoff, Karen Sisco. But ABC canceled that series much too prematurely, and it’s taken until now, 16 years later, for Gugino to get another worthy shot. In this new crime series from Cinemax, she plays Daisy “Jett” Kowalski, a former master thief who gets pulled back into a life of crime just when she thought she was out. And one of the powerful criminals doing the pulling is played by Giancarlo Esposito, finding a delicious new role of his own, after playing the unforgettably sinister yet stoic Gus Fring on both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
