TV WORTH WATCHING: BIANCULLI'S BINGES

SERIES PREMIERE: Like you, we here at TVWW are trying to figure out how to negotiate daily life: how to live, what to do and not do, and, if possible, how to keep working and how to help. And while we’re not sure how long we can do this, or whether it even helps, one of our efforts right now is to give people who are largely housebound some ongoing recommendations about what to watch. Here on the TVWW website home page, we provide Bianculli’s Best Bets, a list of whatever programs are considered the day’s best options (except for today, where we’re posting this special message instead). On our YouTube Channel, TV Worth Watching, we’ve been providing Best TV Tomorrow, a short video (to which you can subscribe, if you like, and like, if you like) pointing out the very best thing to watch on television the next day. So that takes care of Today and Tomorrow. Now, for now, we’re also trying to tackle Yesterday, by doing occasional videos recommending what to watch, from among the endless offerings on an almost endless list of streaming sites, that might help pass the many, many hours of home isolation ahead. Please help us by recommending your own ideas – we’re building a special page here at TVWW, where we can gather and comment, virtually and safely. And on video, to differentiate these reports from the usual Best TV Tomorrow videos, I’ll be wearing a set of promotional scrubs sent to me by the publicists at CBS’s Chicago Hope. That program ran from 1994 to 2000, so that particular item of clothing has been hanging in the back of my closet for at least 20 years now. It identifies me as Dr. David Bianculli, but let me be clear. I’m no doctor. But starting today, at least on YouTube and our own website, I play one on TV…
