The Battle Rounds continue tonight, showing off talent like one of last night’s deserved winners, Christiana Danielle (pictured). In the Audition Rounds, the talent also had to prove itself by singing well — but this round, the skill sets required of the four judges are different. The judges had to trust their ears, and sometimes their persuasion skills, during the blind auditions. Now it’s all about song arrangements — and, even more crucially, song selection.

This 1967 Mike Nichols film masterpiece is shown as TCM salutes some of the cinema’s greatest endings. There’s no way of discussing those endings, or even presenting photos of them, without entering into the valley of Spoiler Alerts — but to quote from another famous movie ending being saluted in this particular TCM tribute, frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.

This is the second episode of this new series about a high school musical drama program — and already, the old and new program directors, played by Rosie Perez and Josh Radnor, have formed an uneasy but workable alliance.

In 1936, almost a decade after the advent of the talking pictures, Charlie Chaplin stubbornly, and successfully, presented a full-length silent film, the last to feature his iconic character the Little Tramp. Modern Times isn’t entirely silent — it uses synchronized sound while playing newfangled “recording devices” as part of the new mechanized society — and, in fact, is amazingly ahead of its time in anticipating such things as giant widescreen flat TV screens, in

This is the start of the Battle Rounds for NBC’s The Voice, but the show already won the biggest Battle Round last week, when it went up against ABC’s reboot of Fox’s American Idol — and won. With the talent, and the chemistry, and the goodwill The Voice continues to display, that wasn’t a surprise. But it was gratifying…

This film biography of one of America’s greatest playwrights is an extremely personal, subjective, and candid one, and with good reason. The director is Rebecca Miller, who happens to be the daughter of the author of Death of a Salesman — and who, like others in the family, delighted in conversing with and quizzing Arthur Miller, as cameras and tape recorders rolled, throughout his life. There’s a scene in Salesman where one of the characters, the young boss who demotes and deg

Tonight’s new episode is the conclusion of a two-parter called “Brainless in Seattle,” and has Liv (Rose McIver) still reflecting the distracted dizziness of a hopeless romantic. Which is poor timing, since a serial killer is on the loose.

This is the fourth episode in this new NBC series, which finds Christina Hendricks’ character with an unwanted and unexpected visitor in her bed. Gunshot victim in her bed. Not a suitor, or a stalker, or even a fairy-tale bear — but a gunshot victim, put there by the local mob boss who keeps finding ways for the neighborhood ladies to do his bidding.

At first glance, you wouldn’t think Arthur Miller, one of the most successful American playwrights of the 20th century, would resemble his most famous character, Willy Loman from Death of a Salesman...
