All episodes of Season 1 of Killing Eve are repeated in sequence, and in a mayhem-filled marathon, today by BBC America, beginning at 7 a.m. ET. And all episodes contain bonus extended footage, so it’s even more of a Killing. Sandra Oh, who got nominated for an Emmy, stars as an intelligence agent chasing a global assassin. Jodie Comer, who co-stars as said assassin, was not nominated – but should have been.

TCM continues and concludes its salute to composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein tonight, honoring the 100th anniversary of his birth, and each day of the salute has been even more exciting than the one before it. Friday we got some of the films for which Bernstein composed the music, including the classic West Side Story. Yesterday we got a sampling of episodes, from the first and tenth seasons, of CBS’s New York Philharmonic Young People’s Concerts, which suckered me in for an al

Part 3. In tonight’s episode, “Fix,” several of this show’s mysteries are explained – but they have less to do with the disappearances and murders of young girls than about the recent and distant past of Amy Adams’ haunted newspaper reporter. And the more we learn, the more we not only understand, but empathize…

NBC provides lots of third-round coverage of today’s British Open, which includes the familiar Open sight of absurdly imposing pot bunkers. And in addition to the sand traps, it also includes the unfamiliar sight, at least of late, of Tiger Woods in weekend play (he tees off about 8 a.m. ET). He made the cut – although the world’s two highest-ranked golfers, Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas, did not.

The entire first season of American Gods is repeated today, in a Saturday marathon, by Starz. This TV adaptation of the Neil Gaiman novel includes memorable appearances by Gillian Anderson – who, like Season 1 showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, will not be returning for Season 2, which Starz already has committed to presenting. The former X-Files star, in Season 1, plays a chameleonic modern goddess named Media – as opposed to Medea – whose alter-ego appearances includ

This weekend, TCM celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Leonard Bernstein, with a tribute that should have your DVRs humming in overdrive. Last night, TCM presented movies featuring some of Bernstein’s most beloved film scores, including music for the big-screen versions of West Side Story and On the Town. That would be an expected approach from a network called Turner Classic Movies – but today and tomorrow, the treats, very rarely shown by anyone, are taken from televisi

MOVIE PREMIERE: This 2018 movie is a sedate, quiet sci-fi film with a powerful wave of emotion behind it. On its surface, it covers the same ground as AMC’s HUMANS or HBO’s Westworld: the evolution of artificial intelligence and human synthetics so convincing they can pass for the real thing. In Zoe, Ewan McGregor plays Cole, the head of a scientific division developing such creations, with the goal being to offer life partners – computer-designed and programmed soul mates of s

Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of this bold, fascinating 1999 fantasy, directed by Spike Jonze and written by Charlie Kaufman – both of whom established their own artistic independence with this wildly original fantasy film. John Cusack plays Craig, a puppeteer and marionette operator who stages bleak, unpopular puppet shows based on classic mythic tragedies. Until, that is, he discovers a portal that allows him to enter the brain of actor John Malkovich, and control him like&hel

When I interviewed Stephen Sondheim on stage at Rutgers University last month, one of the pieces of news he delivered that night was that a movie remake of West Wide Story, with lyrics by Sondheim and music by Leonard Bernstein, was deep into initial development, with a revised screenplay by Angels in America playwright Tony Kushner that Sondheim said updated the rival gangs story line in a way that impressed and excited him. Kushner also wrote the screenplay for Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln
