There’s nothing new to look at here unless you’re among those who haven’t yet seen a TV series about a haunted woman who sees the dead and then aids or afflicts the living...

This animated Disney musical came out in 1994, making this its silver anniversary – 25 years since we first heard “Hakuna Matata,” sung by Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella. Other voices in this well-written, nicely performed Disney movie include Matthew Broderick as Simba, Jeremy Irons as Scar, and James Earl Jones as Mufasa. And, of course, the music is by Elton John, and the lyrics by Tim Rice – the same Tim Rice who teamed with Andrew Lloyd Webber for Jesus Christ Superst

This new documentary takes to the campaign trail with Beto O’Rourke – but it’s not the trail you might expect. Instead of covering his current run hoping to capture the Democratic nomination for President of the United States, Running with Beto takes place during the 2018 midterms, when the young congressperson came within a few hundred thousand votes of unseating Republican incumbent Ted Cruz in the U.S. Senate race in Texas. Why focus on that race now, when O’Rourke&rsq

SERIES PREMIERE: This new music competition series could be an instant hit, a slow roll, or an equally instant flop. Like American Idol and The Voice, it has aspiring talents performing in front of a panel of attention-stealing judges. The slight twist, this time around, is that the contestants are songwriters, not merely singers – so the songs they sing are their own, pitched to the week’s guest artist. For the premiere, that guest artist is John Legend, fresh (or relatively fresh)

MINISERIES FINALE: This is the eighth and final episode of Fosse/Verdon, the FX miniseries that covers much of the same territory, using many of the same cinematic tricks, as choreographer-director Bob Fosse’s stunningly original movie pseudo-autobiography, All That Jazz. And quite fittingly, and perhaps unavoidably, this finale is all about Fosse making the movie All That Jazz, a movie touching on his complicated long-time relationship with Gwen Verdon. Sam Rockwell plays Fosse, and Miche

SERIES PREMIERE: Back in the 1970s, Steve Allen hosted an intriguing PBS series called Meeting of Minds, in which he hosted a dinner party populated by performers impersonating historical figures. (The opener featured Theodore Roosevelt, Cleopatra, Thomas Paine and St. Thomas Aquinas breaking bread together.) Today on Netflix, deceased talk-show guests are featured once again – but this time in a roast format, hosted by Comedy Central roastmaster general Jeff Ross. Guests of honor, each &l

Game 1 of this year’s Stanley Cup Final is an alliterative affair: It’s the Blues vs. the Bruins, the culmination of a wild playoff race that began with all the division winners being eliminated in the first round – with all the long-shot wild-card teams advancing instead. That’s the first time that happened in NHL history, so this year’s tournament is a contest where almost anything can happen. Let’s see…

DOCUMENTARY PREMIERE: The latest edition of Biography is devoted to former Saturday Night Live repertory cast member Chris Farley – who, like his SNL idol John Belushi, was an outrageously original and energetic comic talent, became a big TV and movie star, and died way too young.

MINISERIES PREMIERE: This new three-part miniseries, based on the book by Richard Preston, stars Julianna Margulies as a dedicated scientist confronted with identifying and controlling the Ebola virus when an outbreak threatened to occur in the U.S. in 1989. (Spoiler Alert: It didn’t. But Ebola is back in the headlines, so set your paranoia on Stun.) The miniseries continues tomorrow and concludes Wednesday on National Geographic, so it’s fairly well-contained.
