The new cycle of The Voice continues, with week two of the Blind Auditions stage, where contestants are judged on their vocal abilities alone. This is a contest Kelly Clarkson would have won in a short American Idol minute – and she won that first series competition, and now is on board as a judge, fighting alongside Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys and Adam Levine, to amass the best team of singers and emerge with the best performer overall. And even though Clarkson is a rookie as a U.S. Voice

MINISERIES PREMIERE: This new Smithsonian documentary series looks at one of the most famous leaders in history: Egyptian ruler Cleopatra, who was born into the royal family in 68 B.C. The pharaoh appointed her the next ruler of Egypt, then died shortly thereafter, leaving Cleo as a literal teenage queen. This first installment, “Blood and Betrayal,” covers the circumstances of her birth and her sudden ascent to power. It could have begun with her famous death scene and told her stor

Tonight’s new episode, the second installment of Season 4, is called “Blue Bloody,” and has Liv (Rose McIver) ingesting the brains, and taking on the personality, of a wealthy dowager. Last year at the Academy Awards, host Jimmy Kimmel presided over the most famous major mistake in Oscar history: the awarding of the night’s top honor, Best Picture, to the wrong movie. Presenter Warren Beatty had been handed a duplicate of the previous, Best Actress envelope winner, Emma Stone for La La Land, and, confused, showed it to co-presenter Faye Dunaway, who read aloud the name of the movie as though it had won the top honor. This year, despite that famous fiasco, Kimmel is back.

Tonight’s new animated episode is called “State Dinner,” and the honored guest is Canada’s prime minister, Justin Trudeau – whose polished demeanor and physical fitness drive President Donald Trump into a very competitive mode.
