Last week’s episode ended with a gruesome, surprising visual climax: the charred remains of Bran and Rickon, hung from ropes for all to see. But since the bodies are burned beyond recognition, how can we be certain that the victims are indeed the people they have been said to be? Time to call in the forensic experts of CSI: Winterfell.

This series ended last week’s episode with Betty Draper (January Jones) taking, and chewing contentedly on, a bite of food at the family dinner table. How is that a climactic moment? Well, it was – if you watched the hour before, and other shows featuring Betty this season. Just when it seems as though this show, like Betty, has bitten off more than it can chew, comes another delicious, and easily digestible, twist. What a season. What a series.

This 2006 Wachowski Brothers movie is a somewhat seditious selection by BBC America, since it’s all about a futuristic totalitarian British state overthrown by rebel forces tied to that country’s history of anarchy. Hugo Weaving stars as the freedom fighter who goes by the name of “V,” and Natalie Portman plays his eventual protégé – whose schemes include donning a particularly provocative costume to entice and distract a devious, deviant adversary.

This 2011 movie prequel recasts several members of the X-Men universe with younger actors, principally including James McAvoy as Charles Xavier (replacing Patrick Stewart) and Michael Fassbender as Magneto (played, in other X-Men movies, by Ian McKellen). Both of them do an excellent job, and they’re not the only ones. Check out who plays the younger version of Raven, a.k.a. Mystique, the blue-skinned shape-shifter portrayed as an adult by Rebecca Romijn. Young Raven, in this film, is em

Many movie and TV adaptations have been made of this gothic romance novel by Emily Bronte, but none has surpassed the teaming, in this 1939 movie classic, of Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier as passionate lovers Cathy and Heathcliff. Their screen romance here is a type of perfection as sheer as the cliffs on which they embrace. No moor, no less.

This week’s report gives new meaning to the term “get the lead out”: Nick Koenig, one of the surviving victims of a deadly home invasion in St. Louis in 2009, has been carrying around a bullet from that frightening night, lodged in the base of his skull and considered inoperable. Last month, Keonig was in a car accident – after which he coughed up something irritating in his throat, which turned out to be that bullet. And that’s only one of the amazing stories tie

SEASON FINALE: To end the season, SNL hands both musical and guest host duties to Mick Jagger, who invites lots of musicians to help him in the former instance – and goes it alone in the latter case. Because, when he wants to, he moves like Jagger, moves like Jagger…
