If you caught one of James Corden’s first-week Late Late Show outings on CBS, you had to notice some of his program’s distinguishing characteristics, such as dispensing with the talk-show desk for interviews and bringing out all his guests at once to share screen time. Credit for both those innovations can be traced to this long-running British talk show and host, who once brought out Corden as one of his guests – at the same time he welcomed Katy Perry and Paul McCartney. Lee Marvin does a great job in this 1965 Western comedy, and won an Oscar for his impressive efforts, playing a has-been gunfighter in both his drunken and sober states – and more. The intermittent songs by frontier balladeers Nat ‘King’ Cole and Stubby Kaye are a delight, as are the performances by Michael Callan, Dwayne Hickman and Tom Nardini as members of a newly formed outlaw gang. But it’s Jane Fonda, as the film’s titular leader of that outlaw gang, who encha

Last night, one of the No. 1 seeds, the favored Kentucky, trounced its opponent, West Virginia, almost to the point of involving the college equivalent of the mercy rule. The other No. 1 seed playing Thursday, Wisconsin, had a much tougher time of it – and, in fact, was behind coming into the closing minutes, when it dominated play at the end and emerged victoriously. So, for the record, did No. 3 seed Notre Dame, getting deeper into the NCAA tournament than it has in a long time, and No.

In tonight’s episode, most of the trouble comes from the women. Yes, in this particular case, they happen to be demon beasts and other supernaturally enhanced and possessed creatures – but still, I’m beginning to see a pattern. Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch), who used to be good, is only one of the ladies to turn bad tonight. I’m just saying…

If you thought you couldn’t see Kevin Hart on TV this week any more than you have, think again. Here he is one more time, this time in a repeat of his 2011 standup comedy concert. Hart said recently that he crafts these shows as complete entities – sort of like albums – so see if you can discern the theme of this one. Bingo: He’s admitting to his fears, foibles, mistakes and traumas, the better to make you laugh at.

Week two of March Madness begins, with four games played tonight across two networks. Both CBS and TBS are presenting doubleheaders (and will repeat the trick tomorrow night, completing the roster of Sweet 16 competitors.) CBS coverage, live from Cleveland, starts things off at 7 p.m. ET, with the first of two games from the Midwest bracket: No. 3 seed Notre Dame against No. 7 seed Wichita State, the lowest-ranked of tonight’s seeds to hit the court. On TBS, live from Los Angeles, the next
