SEASON FINALE: Just how big a roll is Empire on this season? Tonight’s two-hour season finale displaces American Idol from its Wednesday perch, because Empire, not Idol, already is the shiniest and most popular jewel in Fox’s prime-time crown. Tonight’s expanded Season 1 wrap-up promises some major plot-point resolutions, including a possible musical father-son reconciliation, and lots of guest stars (including Patti LaBelle, Rita Ora, Snoop Dogg, Juicy J and Jennifer Hudson).

Fifty years after the original release of this beloved Oscar-winning movie version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Diane Sawyer presents this 20/20 special looking back at it all, with the film’s star, Julie Andrews, as co-tour guide. Their travels take them from the movie’s production notes, where we see storyboards for an unused hedge maze sequence suggested for the “Do Re Mi” number, to Austria, where the hills remain alive… along with the descendents of

Last week, the FBI found the bug planted in their director’s office, and suspicion points in the direction that, quite quickly, could turn to this show’s central couple of Soviet sleeper agents. And they’ve got plenty on their plate already, between a suspicious and rebellious daughter at home and a captured and belligerent enemy at their secret location…

SEASON FINALE: Desperate to find a woman willing to go out with him, Josh (Jay Baruchel) travels to the ends of the earth – and winds up in the remotest of arctic locations, using his friend as a translator to ask “the last woman on earth” on a date. It may sound like a rehash of Fox’s current The Last Man on Earth, but this FXX comedy uses that setup as a jumping-point to cover some new ground. And to revisit at least one former girlfriend…

SERIES RETURN: This also counts as a season premiere, since the first episode presented here marks the first episode of Season 6 of Community – the first one produced for Yahoo, not its former home, NBC. Series creator Dan Harmon remains with the show (which is more than he could say during Season 4, when NBC dismissed him before inviting him back the following year). Most cast members from Season 5 are back, too, save for Yvette Nicole Brown, who played Shirley. New to the cast: Paget Bre

Tonight, we get the first battles of the “First Four”: two back-to-back games in which wannabe tournament teams, in the college basketball equivalent of long-shot wild-cards, battle each other to claim the remaining lowest-seeded slots in this year’s bracket. Both of today’s games are televised live from Dayton, OH by TruTV, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET with Manhattan vs. Hampton. The second game in the doubleheader, beginning at approximately 9 p.m. ET, is BYU vs. Mississip

Blair Underwood, the L.A. Law veteran who was so quietly powerful in his psychology sessions on HBO’s In Treatment, gets to revisit the shrink-and-patient dynamic again – this time in a recurring role here, as a therapist examining Skye. And he’s got other ties to the S.H.I.E.L.D. world as well…

Imagine Veronica Mars as a zombie – still solving crimes precociously, still wielding a gift for gab and a quick mind, still relying on a small but loyal circle of friends. Except she’s undead, and the only way she keeps from becoming a full-out raging zombie is to feed her habit with a regular supply of brains. So she finds work in a morgue – and also finds that when she samples the brains of the recently deceased corpses there, she gains temporary access to some of their memo

“…You should have run towards me.” When Timothy Olyphant’s Raylan said that line last week, explaining to a character why Raylan shot him in the back, it made me laugh out loud. It may not have been why this show was called Justified in the first place, but the way Raylan “justified” his actions was perfectly in character, and as hilarious as it was unexpected. Man, I’m lovin this show as it’s winding down.

Get out the dictionary of clichés, the thesaurus of hyperbole and anything else that will help interpret Dick Vitale’s ranting. It’s time for the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. So much about this tournament and this time of year is such fun that it’s hard to settle on a favorite moment...
