Tonight’s two episodes both feature Chris Pratt as Andy – but also set up the events for next week’s episodes, which together serve as the series finale.

SERIES PREMIERE: Based on a recurring feature from Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, this series is part Candid Camera and part Punk’d. On her talk show, DeGeneres would sit back in the studio, watching on hidden cameras and instructing her co-conspirator, who was listening in a tiny earpiece, to do and say whatever Ellen suggested. The humor stems both from how the orders are carried out and how the clueless “mark” witnessing all this reacts. And now it’s a series, with

Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) is on the run, with even her own fellow agents suspecting her of treason. But she’s got good reason for her actions – and even though she’s got some very determined people, good as well as evil, searching for her, here’s hoping she triumphs. Not only this week, but in being awarded a Season 2 from ABC. The network remains on the fence – but I’m sold.

SERIES PREMIERE: Concluding next week, this four-hour, two-night documentary traces the emigration of Italians to the United States, recounting bias and difficulties as well as innovations and triumphs. One story it doesn’t tell, so I will: my grandfather, Vitale Bianculli, came to America in 1911, arriving from a small mountain village in what would be the “ankle” of Italy. He was a tailor, despite having lost a few fingers in a childhood firecracker explosion. And since U.S.

Oh, my. This final season of Justified continues to find perfectly reasonable ways to bring back old faces and beloved former characters. Tonight’s episode includes two more, portraying characters from opposite sides of the law: Mykelti Williamson as backwoods black crime lord Limehouse, and Patton Oswald (pictured) as the surprisingly resourceful and dedicated Constable Bob. They’re both terrific tonight – and so is series regular Joelle Carter as Ava Crowder, who manages to s

No joke – or is it? Tonight’s episode appears to introduce this show’s rebooted origin story of one of the most infamous villains in the Batman universe: the Joker. The character in question is played by Cameron Monaghan from Shameless. Whether or not he turns out to be the actual Joker, though, is a riddle. Maybe we should check with E. Nigma – because we already know he will, in time, morph into The Riddler.

MINISERIES PREMIERE: Part 1 of 3. This miniseries is a new drama using a composite character (Aminata Diallo, played by Aunjanue Ellis) to dramatize the story of slaves who were promised their freedom and fought in a war. Except, in this little-told chapter from history, the conflict in question was the Revolutionary War, and the slaves belonged to the British. Also starring: Louis Gossett Jr., whose credentials in this particular genre were made impeccable thanks to his unforgettable performanc

When this movie was released in 1969, it was so controversial, and its subject matter and language considered so adult, that it was one of the few major-studio films ever rated X. That was then, then is now. And now, it shows up, unedited, at the start of prime time on cable’s Encore network. Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman star, as hustlers who team up in hopes of surviving the tough streets of New York City.

Taped last Tuesday in Los Angeles, after the Grammys but while all that musical talent was still in town, this star-studded, song-packed concert salutes the music and legacy of Stevie Wonder. Performers at the concert included Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran and Gary Clark Jr. teaming for a medley of “Fingertips,” “Master Blaster” and “Higher Ground”; Lady Gaga at the piano for “I Wish”; Annie Lennox singing “My Cherie Amour”; and Stevie him

Tonight’s Episode 3 starts with a flashback within the flashback, stretching the rules of this new series even more inventively—and, like the rest of the hour, giving us real insight into the development of young Jimmy McGill into the smarmy Breaking Bad attorney known as Saul Goodman.
