Tonight’s new episode introduces us to Sabrina’s mother and grandmother – and Raising Hope really has raised the bar with its casting of these two roles. The mom is played by Melanie Griffith (pictured), and her mom is played by Griffith’s real-life mom, Tippi Hedren, star of Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds. This episode is worth flocking to…

Three years before sailing on Titanic, Kate Winslet starred as one of the twisted teens in this fact-based drama about murderous schoolgirls in New Zealand. The fact that this story is based on truth makes it more, rather than less, creepy — as does Winslet’s intense-beyond-her-years performance. And another reason to watch: It's directed by Peter Jackson, before he went on to direct his Lord of the Rings cycle.

As new neighbors movie in, Nick and Jess reevaluate their “friends without benefits” relationship status. Nick insists the thought of relating otherwise is repugnant to him – which Jess, understandably, takes a bit personally.

In tonight’s episode, Dennis Quaid gets to walk into a bar, listen for a few seconds to the rude comments of a boisterous patron, then throw him through the window and out onto the street. Yes, I know this fact-based story is set in 1950s Las Vegas – but from Quaid’s demeanor to his wardrobe, this new CBS series really is a wild Western in disguise.

After what happened to Opie on last week’s show, some fans have revolted against this series, while others, myself included, have embraced it all the more for its ruthless unpredictability. What will happen this week, as the Sons are out of prison? I’m almost afraid to guess – and to watch. But I will. (Watch, not guess.)

Breaking Bad fans, take heed. Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) wants to hire an unscrupulous lawyer to craft a very crafty pre-nup. Who ya gonna call? Better call Saul! Or, at least, guest star Bob Odenkirk, who plays Saul the slimy attorney on Breaking Bad. And who, on seven previous occasions, has played slimy lawyer Arthur Hobbs on this sitcom.

Walking Dead fans, take heed. Tonight IFC repeats the original iconic zombie movie – George A. Romero’s 1968 low-budget classic, the one that set the filmmaking rules by which Walking Dead still plays.

With the 2012 presidential election now only about a month away, here’s a timely showing of Mike Nichols’ very funny, and quite insightful, 1998 political satire, which stars John Travolta and Emma Thompson as a very Clintonian power couple.
