Tonight’s time-traveling episode returns to Prohibition, specifically in 1931 Chicago, to go all gangsta for a while. This series’ co-creator, Eric Kripke, reaches out to a recurring player from his previous series, Misha Collins (the angel Castiel on the CW’s Supernatural), to play the role of gangster-hunting Eliot Ness (pictured). In this episode, the gangster being hunted is none other than Al Capone.

Daryl Davis is an African-American musician who, over the years, has backed artists ranging from Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry to Bo Diddley and Muddy Waters. But he has a very unusual hobby: He likes to seek out and introduce himself to members of the Ku Klux Klan, to give them an opportunity to get to know a black man. It’s an impressively high-risk, change-the-world-one-step-at-a-time hobby. Me, I collected stamps. Check local listings.

SEASON PREMIERE: I really liked this show when it premiered on AMC, as a dark adaptation of an already dark Swedish series. William Hurt was one standout star last year, as an early-version developer of “synths” – humanlike robots who may or may not be more alive than their creators imagine. He’s gone, but Emily Berrington (pictured) and Gemma Chan, as synths Niska and Anita, are back, and a new cast addition this series is Carrie-Anne Moss, co-star of The Matrix movies,

After opening Season 7 with shock and awe, AMC’s The Walking Dead has sensibly been trying to ease back into regular old show-sized battles.

I’m not sure the original 60 Minutes executive producer, Don Hewitt, would have approved this, but tonight 60 Minutes presents an abbreviated version, devoted entirely to profiles of, and interviews with, three artists to figure prominently at tonight’s Grammys – also televised by CBS. The artists are Beyoncé, Adele, and Bruno Mars. And tonight’s 60 Minutes, to make room for a Grammys pre-show special, will be only 30 Minutes. But who’s counting?

This is the awards show where the performances are the best part of the show – which you can say of the Grammys and the Tonys, but not for the Emmys or Oscars. Tonight’s scheduled performers include Adele, Bruno Mars, Chance the Rapper, Katy Perry, and some of Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich’s famous musical teamings. This year, the pairings include Lady Gaga and Metallica, as well as Maren Morris and Alicia Keys, and, somehow, The Weeknd and Daft Punk. The host is James Corden, wh

SEASON PREMIERE: Like so many miniseries-style series popping up these days, The Missing presents a new story, with a largely new cast of characters, each season. For this new season of this imported British drama, David Morrissey, not too long ago seen as the governor on The Walking Dead, joins the cast as the father of a missing girl, who has been gone for more than a decade, but may have suddenly resurfaced. And if you like tonight’s premiere, you can keep going, instantly. While Starz

The more mature Queen Victoria (Jenna Coleman) gets in this series, the more Coleman gets to strut her acting chops. Each episode, as she gets older, seems to get better, as the politics and the royal court become more complicated, and the Queen navigates, with increasing deftness, between the throne and her family and private life. MIDSEASON RETURN: In the finale to the first half of the season, before taking an extended break, The Walking Dead reunited several characters who had been separated by various plot factions, villains, and circumstance. These included Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Michonne (Danai Gurira), and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) – though a few other familiar characters failed to make it through the episode alive. But now, as the midseason premiere arrives, so does a determination for the

SEASON PREMIERE: It’s the sixth and final season for Girls, and this is the year when Hannah) Lena Dunham and her crew finally learn what they mean to each other – and what they don’t. The season begins with Hannah getting an opinion piece published in The New York Times. (Hey, Hannah, we have something in common…)
