Werner Herzog, as a filmmaker of both dramas and documentaries, is a man whose dedication to his vision borders on the extreme. Then, often, it crosses that border entirely, but always with astounding results. Tonight, TCM devotes the night to films by or about Herzog, starting with one of his amazing masterpieces, 1982’s Fitzcarraldo. Klaus Kinski stars as a man with the dream – the rather insane dream – of bringing opera, and an opera house, to the Brazilian jungle.
