Tonight’s new episodes both feature repeat daters. David (Will Mellor), the lorry driver who had an awkward date with Mia in the opening episode, ends up dating again – an impromptu birthday date with Ellie (Montanna Thompson, pictured), who’s a lot younger than his just-turned-34. The next half hour features Erica (Gemma Chan, from Humans), who, last time we saw her, was dating a lesbian. This time, she’s dating a Callum (Greg McHugh).

SEASON FINALE: This series has shifted in tone two or three times over the course of its first season – but none of the stylistic choices has resulted in a good show, at least yet. Maybe tonight, when Wayward Pines turns from mystery to futuristic sci-fi to zombie invasion show (no kidding), things will change. But I wouldn’t bet the dystopian farm on it…

This series is turning out to be one of summer’s best surprises. However, its story line, about hostile hacking, strikes a nerve right now – because that may have been what happened to the servers housing TVWW. Stay tuned. And be patient.

Recommend it? I can’t even explain it. How does social media work, exactly, so that this Syfy movie series becomes a trending topic? Anyway, here’s the third installment in this intentionally bizarre, cameo-filled, intelligence-emptied series.

Why do I recommend this movie every time it’s on TV? Put the blame on Mame… and on Rita Hayworth, especially in her nightclub scenes.

In one of today’s challenges, the competing chefs have to prepare steak – for more than 100 ranchers and cowboys. I wonder if any of them will use the new method with which I’ve been experimenting: Cooking the steak directly on the coals. Believe it or not, it works – great.

Part 3 of 3. This Spike miniseries about Tutankhamun the boy king concludes tonight. Which means, if you’re not aware of that fact, you won’t know whether he’s Tutankhamen or going.
