In tonight’s second episode, Baskets (Zach Galifianakis) gets a protégé – another rodeo clown who, for some reason, looks to Baskets for inspiration and instruction. It seems unlikely, and ill-advised – but they do make for a good pair. And Baskets, when not doing his silent clown act, could use someone else to talk to.

One of tonight’s guests intrigues me, and it’s not the regular sort of show-biz guest. It’s Erin Brockovich – the real activist herself, not Julia Roberts, who played her in the movies.

This is a TV comedy series about high school, putting it in the same continuum as The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, Gidget, Square Pegs, My So-Called Life and The Wonder Years. It lasted only one season, but it’s a very important part of that continuum...

Part 3 of 3. The conclusion of this three-part Nature special is all about the mating habits of different species of animals. I haven’t previewed this part of the trilogy, but I’d be very, very disappointed if it didn’t include, and highlight, two particular creatures: the birds and the bees. Check local listings.

This Disney movie came out in 1961, when I was a kid, and the idea of a professor who had invented an anti-gravity substance – flubber – was not only credible, but one of the coolest things to imagine. Sneakers made of Flubber? Car tires? How high could you go? And, in this movie, that’s pretty much the plot. And though I haven’t seen this film since I was 7, I’m interested in giving it a second look. Fred MacMurray stars.

In tonight’s episode, the story gets out, the intensity changes – and so do the focuses of the scrutiny, especially in the media, and at the respective schools dealing with this social-media controversy.

MIDSEASON PREMIERE: The story picks up where it left off: With the threat of long-term prison terms, and a loyalty test that’s only going to get more difficult as the day, and the next few episodes, progress. The firm dynamics have been exploded, secrets revealed – and, starting tonight, long-simmering resentments avenged.

You, Me and the Apocalypse puts the fun back into depressive television. NBC’s 10-part miniseries follows a bizarre bunch of people through what are billed as the last 34 days of civilization on the planet Earth...
