It takes about five seconds for a reboot of Amazing Stories to fully conjure the spirit of Steven Spielberg, who created the original 1985 series...

I still don't understand why so many people dislike Hillary Clinton. I mention this because I had hoped Hulu's new documentary Hillary, which becomes available Friday, might provide some insight...

SERIES PREMIERE: If you remember the original 1985 Steven Spielberg anthology series, you might have the proper mixture of anticipation and skepticism regarding this new reboot. Yes, it has the same musical theme (by John Williams) and a similar opening title sequence, which worked so well the first time. But except for a few standout episodes, the original NBC Amazing Stories seldom featured stories that were… amazing. Apple TV+ provided only one episode for preview, and it&rsq

It's mere coincidence, but the day after Elizabeth Warren withdraws from the Democratic presidential primary race, Hulu premieres a new four-part documentary about the woman who ran for president in 2016, and won the popular vote: Hillary Rodham Clinton. The first episode spends much of its time on the Rodham part, including her newsmaking commencement address at Wellesley while a student there (pictured), and her time as a young legal aide on the Watergate staff. But it hops around in time, beg

Next week, NBC doubles up on Lincoln Rhyme, presenting the season’s final two episodes in a special two-parter. So tonight’s episode, I guess, can be considered the show’s next-to-penultimate installment…

Gee, any interesting breaking news for Bill Maher to address this week? Other than Joe Biden’s rise, so many other candidates’ withdrawals, and the spread of the current pandemic, it’s been a fairly slow week…

Making tech billionaires into villains for purposes of TV drama isn't a tough sell. Devs...doesn't waste time in letting us know that its Big Bad is Forest (Nick Offerman), the calculating bossman at a tech giant...

MINISERIES PREMIERE: This new eight-part sci-fi drama comes from FX – it’s an FX Production appearing first, and exclusively, on Hulu, in what is a new, occasional occurrence billed as “FX on Hulu.” More to the point, Devs is written, directed and executive produced by Alex Garland, writer and director of Ex Machina. It looks appropriately and impressively futuristic, and stars Nick Offerman as Forest, head of a very secretive and envelope-pushing tech

Tonight TCM presents another carefully curated double future – so carefully, it’s a double double. The first movie, at 8 p.m. ET, is 1957’s Paths of Glory, and the second, at 9:45 p.m. ET, is 1960’s Spartacus. Both star Kirk Douglas, and that would be enough to justify, and dive into, this particular twin bill. But both of these films, in addition to having the same star, have the same director: Stanley Kubrick.

SEASON PREMIERE: It’s now Season 4 of Pamela Adlon’s FX series showcase, and she’s managed to keep capturing slices of life as a single mother, parenting three increasingly individual daughters. Adlon created this show, and stars in and directs it as well, and has evolved Better Things into an even better show – one that finds its beauty, and even its meaning, in the unexpectedly small, seemingly arbitrary moments.
