Letting Rick and all the survivors loose on their various respective paths has made for an especially unsettling season start for The Walking Dead – though not an unsatisfactory one, as their paths slowly begin to cross. Some of them, at least.

The U.S. Olympic men’s hockey team, having lost its semifinal game yesterday to Canada, plays today against Finland, the losing team in the other semifinal. This is no mere consolation match: the winner of U.S. vs. Finland returns home with a bronze medal in men’s hockey. And while the game will be a featured element in tonight’s tape-delayed prime-time package on NBC, fans can watch it live, beginning at 10 a.m. ET on NBCSN. Other events day include snowboarding, alpine skiing

Inspired by a Hans Cristian Andersen fairy tale (take that, Film Aesthetics students!), this 1948 film, directed by Michael Powell and co-directed by Emeric Pressburger, who also wrote the screenplay, is one of the classic dance films. Anton Walbrook plays Boris, an authoritarian stager of ballets who turns his most talented protégés into stars – but at a price. Moira Shearer stars as Victoria, his latest find, whose embrace, then rejection, of her mentor’s attentions p

SEASON PREMIERE: Following in the trail blazed by Tom Fontana’s Copper, this BBC America import is a period detective drama, set in East London in 1889, just after the Jack the Ripper murders. Matthew Macfayden stars as Detective Inspector Edmund Reid, a tough guy who speaks softly but carries a heavy billy club. Season 2’s opening installment is solid but not stunning, but Ripper Street earns points for its historical research and plots. Watch out for a recurring character who will

Oh, here’s one to watch for sure. Bill Murray, Matt Damon and Hugh Bonneville are the guests on this freewheeling U.K. talk show, all to promote their new movie Monuments Men – though Bonneville, in England as in the U.S., is better known for starring as Robert Crawley, the Earl of Grantham, on TV’s Downton Abbey. And tonight, while they all share the same couch, so does the week’s musical guest, the eccentrically dressed Paloma Faith.

SERIES PREMIERE: Series creator Jason Katims is basing his newest TV series on a movie, which, in turn, was based on a book.  In this case, it’s Nick Hornby’s novel, which was made into a movie starring Hugh Grant in 2002. But Katims has followed the same formula before, and emerged with NBC’s excellent Friday Night Lights series, as well as made a very impressive TV version of another film in the ongoing Parenthood.  NBC is giving Katims’ newest series, About a
