Tracy misbehaving is nothing new on this show, but this time he’s doing it in the social universe – on Twitter. And Liz (Tina Fey), as usual, has to deal with the fallout. But the subplot I’m most interested in watching this week has to do with guest star Nina Arianda, a terrific young Broadway actress who’s also clocked some time on TV on The Good Wife.

When you realize that it’s been decades, literally, since Ethel Kennedy has given an interview, this new documentary is a TV treasure by that measure alone. Add to it the fact that it’s a documentary by Ethel’s daughter Rory, with whom her mom was pregnant when Rory’s father, Robert F. Kennedy, was assassinated in 1968, and… wow. Ethel, 84, has a lot to say, and says a lot even when she opts to remain silent. And if her reactions and reflections don’t get you

HBO's Ethel is a highly varnished look at 84-year-old Ethel Kennedy through the eyes of her youngest of 11 children, Rory Kennedy...

Both the American and National League teams play the latest games in their respective  Championship Series today. First comes the afternoon NLCS game, at 4 p.m. ET, televised by Fox, with Game 3 of the San Francisco Giants-St. Louis Cardinals series. Currently, the teams are tied at 1. Then, at 8 p.m. ET, TBS presents Game 4 of the New York Yankees-Detroit Tigers ACLS series, in which the Tigers, for tonight’s game, enjoy both the series lead and home-field advantage. The Tigers lead

Where there’s smoke, there’s… smoke. Late at night, a smoke alarm awakens the family, who descend the staircase to discover that the cause of the commotion is a little piece of magic. And elsewhere in this new episode, in another household, there’s another nocturnal cause of alarm: a formerly silent source of snoring.

The popularity of all the CBS and NBC crime procedurals suggests there may be a large and welcome audience for this new episode of Nova, which takes a look at the latest science behind forensic investigations. Here’s one, for starters: 3-D fingerprints. Check local listings.

Last week’s series premiere established the setting, the premise, the protagonist, the antagonist, and the hint that this could be one of the season’s best new series. Tonight, with episode two, Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere come out swinging – but not necessarily at each other.

SEASON PREMIERE: This spooky FX series begins Season 2 with a near-complete reboot, a shift to an even more atmospheric setting, and an opener that, once again, all but demands that you return for more – especially for more of returning Emmy-winner Jessica Lange, whose performance, going from supporting to leading lady this year in a newly cast role as a sinister sister, is second to nun. For my full review, see Bianculli’s Blog.

On this day in 1999, HBO presented what it thought would be a one-time, one-hour special, Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm...

Asylum is neither for the faint of heart nor the stout of mind. Some of its imagery is arresting. But this is mostly a sorry, unfortunate and even contemptuous enterprise...
