They don’t make costume dramas like this any more – because no one has the money, and because what was accomplished then with massive sets and thousands of extras is accomplished today by post-production CGI effects. We began the season worrying about whether Jon Snow was really dead, and now we get to an episode, with a giant battle imminent, where we get to wonder if he’ll live (or relive) much longer.
