Watch this 1964 Disney live-action movie, starring Julie Andrews as the umbrella-sporting heroine of the P.L. Travers story – then go find and watch 2013’s Saving Mr. Banks, in which Emma Thompson plays Travers, and Tom Hanks plays Walt Disney, who pursues her tenaciously for the rights to make Mary Poppins into a movie.
