This morning’s newspaper headlines noted that the upsets occurring in Thursday’s official opening day of March Madness had busted all but an estimated one percent of the nation’s NCAA brackets. And that was only day one, when West No. 14 seed Georgia State beat No. 3 seed Baylor with R.J. Hunter’s gorgeous last-second go-ahead three-pointer, and another No. 14 seed, UAB, beat its higher-ranked rival in the South, No. 3 Iowa State. Today’s games begin at noon ET on C

SERIES FINALE: This Fox series, which ran out of steam a few years ago, ends officially tonight with a two-hour finale split between a prequel and a sequel. When it started, before it became gimmicky and unfocused, Glee was a bold and endearing musical drama – but that was years ago, and this series might have been better served building its final installment around a retrospective including its best musical and dramatic sequences. And how would I end it? With the inaugural cast's wonderfu

Just in case you missed it earlier this week: Here’s a same-week repeat of this clever new genre series, starring Rose McIver as a zombie who manages to keep her new “condition” in check thanks to a steady infusion of brains – which, as she munches on them, also provide her with temporary memories, skills and murder clues. In a word: iLikeit.

So here it is. The first full day of March Madness, with 16 games spread over various networks in a deliriously crammed 12-hour stretch. The action starts at noon ET on CBS, with Notre Dame (seeded No. 3 in the Midwest region) playing Northeastern (seeded No. 14), and ending just before 10 p.m. ET on truTV with the tipoff of Georgetown (No. 4 in the South) vs. Eastern Washington (No. 13). In between: 14 other games, including, at 9:40 pm. ET on CBS, the undefeated No. 1 Midwest seed Kentucky, fa

Last night, this series was bumped by the two-hour season finale of Empire – and in one recent Idol live show, host Ryan Seacrest asked two of that show’s stars, sitting in the audience, how it felt to be on the top-rated program on TV. Then Seacrest added, wistfully, that he remembered when he was on the top-rated show on TV. Well, tonight, American Idol gets the entire two hours of prime time on Fox, as it presents performances from the Top 10 finalists, then says goodbye to some o

Just a note about a pop-culture crossover event: Lena Dunham, who plays a wannabe author on HBO’s Girls, does a cameo tonight on Scandal, playing an author – of what may be this show’s answer to Fifty Shades of Grey. Publicity stunt? Sure. Effective? I wrote about it, didn't I?

Watch Regina King tonight, and you’ll understand what sort of broad scope and daring vision this new ABC series is attempting. Her character, and her situation with her loved ones, isn’t at all what you’d expect from a crime drama – which is precisely the point.

Last night, Kevin Hart showed up, in a very funny interview segment, to promote Get Hard, his new comedy movie with Will Ferrell – and he never said a word about it. Tonight, Hart’s co-star, Ferrell, gets equal time, and perhaps he’ll remember to plug his project. Or maybe not, but at least it should be a very funny visit with Stewart.

Last night, truTV presented the first two of this season’s “First Four” play-in games, in which scrappy teams fought for the chance to advance as the lowest-seeded squads in the 2015 NCAA tournament. In the first game, Hampton beat Manhattan to notch its first tournament win in 14 years. And in the second game, Ole Miss bounced back from a double-digit deficit to tie BYU late in the second half, then traded shots, and leads, back and forth before emerging with the win, in one o
